JOSCARS

I got scars on my body, from when I was a kid From riding crazy ponies and some stupid things I did Those scars healed in time, they left an ugly mark But they don’t cross my mind, even when my days are dark
I’ve got scars on my tongue, from not saying what I should say Biting my lip and keeping my cool, just to make it thru the day Not telling the boss how dumb he is, foregoing a bad cliché, He can’t handle the truth and another scar is made
1st CHORUS I’ve got scars on my brain, from watching the TV Life’s great injustice is played out for all of us to see The starving kids in Africa, are praying for their next meal While the fat cats in Washington finding new ways to steal
I got scars on my heart, they may never heal And my distrust for fellow man, I may never reveal With age comes wisdom, as friends may come and go But scars from my enemies continue to grow
2nd CHORUS I’ve got scars on my brain, from watching the TV Life’s great injustice is played out for all of us to see 22 Veterans die every day, by their own hand The war is still going on in their minds and our leaders don't give a damn
