- ONE A.M. IN TACOMA

It was one a.m. in Tacoma
She called to say they finally arrived
It was raining that night in Tacoma
She assured me everything was fine
It’s so hard on a mother and father
When your baby’s halfway around the world
She’s married now and starting her own family
To us, she’s still our little girl
Are we sad, or are we just being selfish
Cause it’s us who choose to stay here
Ad we both had left home so much younger
Guess we’d forgotten all about the tears
We knew that this day would come
When we’d have to say goodbye
Everyone was there at the airport
Time had come to cry
It was one a.m. in Tacoma
She called to say they safely arrived
She said it’s raining tonight here in Tacoma
Don’t worry Papa, we’ll all right
Everyday when my clock strikes ten
I’ll think about Tacoma again
